DERMATOLOGY FOUNDATION WELCOMES

ANNENBURG ONE HUNDRED

Reaching a milestone in its brief history, the Annenberg Circle now numbers 102 members from the specialty and the lay public.  Known as the Annenberg One Hundred, this distinguished group of 21 new members from both the specialty and the lay public was responsible for the Annenberg Circle growing by over 20% for the second straight year. They joined their colleagues in committing $25,000 to expand research funding opportunities in medical and surgical dermatology.  This includes the Dermatology Foundation's newest pediatric fellowship and three clinical development awards in dermatologic surgery.

New members from the specialty in 2001 include Drs. Karl R. Beutner, John Q. Binhlam, Ronald R. Brancaccio, William P. Davey, Dan A. Dunaway, Irwin M. Freedberg, Harley A. Haynes, David J. Leffell, Nicholas V. Perricone, Rhonda Rand, Ronald P. Rapini, Phoebe Rich, Roy S. Rogers III, Louis Rubin, Neil S. Sadick, Mary C. Spellman, Daniel M. Stewart, Hiram M. Sturm, and Stephen B. Webster.  New members from the lay public are: Messrs.. Glenn A. Oclassen and Charles W. Stiefel.

Rodney S. W. Basler, M.D., chairman of the Annenberg Circle Committee, commented: "Given the fact that it was just over a year ago the Committee set the goal of establishing the Annenberg One Hundred, Iūm proud of what we've accomplished for the entire specialty.  We will continue our personal solicitations throughout 2002 and look forward to welcoming additional members."  Members of the Annenberg Circle Committee are: Drs. Tina S. Alster, Rex A. Amonette, Marshall L. Blankenship, Gary A. Dyer, Mitchel P. Goldman, Gerald G. Krueger, Thomas G. Olsen, Richard K. Scher, M.D. and Donald S. Waldorf.
