DERMATOLOGY FOUNDATION OFFERS EXPANDED "PROJECT AWARENESS"
SERIES FOR 2001 ACADEMIC YEAR
"Project Awareness" the residents outreach program begun last fall will be expanded during the current academic year. The program began in mid-2000, and more than 250 residents had attended this presentation by year-end.
"Project Awareness" is a brief audiovisual production intended to give residents background on the Dermatology Foundations Research Awards Program and the funding it provides for young investigators in dermatology and cutaneous cell biology.
According to "Project Awareness" Chair Gerald G. Krueger, M.D., "We see this as a way of introducing residents in dermatology to the Foundations mission of advancing patient care through research and informing them that the DF is a major resource for funding the early stages of the investigative careers of those wanting to advance medical and surgical dermatology. At the same time, this enables us to emphasize the need for more dermatologists to join in supporting the Foundation as a primary R & D funding source for progress in the specialty.
Department and Division chairs are encouraged to contact the Dermatology Foundation at 847-328-2256. Email dfgen@dermatologyfoundation.org to schedule a "Project Awareness" presentation.
